After his studies of Biomedical Sciences, Niklaas started a PhD in bio-informatics in October 2007 at Ghent University in the Faculty of Medicine. Management, visualization and analysis of quantitative proteomic data are the main topics of his thesis.
The research lead to several publications and highly appreciated tools like iceLogo and Rover. Next to this research, Niklaas has to organize and give practical course for student studying Biomedical Sciences and Medicine.
Niklaas obtained his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences on Friday, 13 May 2011, and has now left the CompOmics group to pursue a career in industry as a consultant. Good luck, Niklaas!
